Our project is a web page application, the main property of our project is a recommendation system, this will recommend best hostels to the students who come from different cities and face difficulty in finding a good accumudation.
Project Objective
In Pakistan there is no platform to find hostels online except Google and some international websites, these websites have mostly hotels or hostels from only main city not from every city. Our objective is to create an easy to use web based system for users to find hostels from all across the world specially Pakistan. Users will find best hostels according to their needs by our recommendation system.
Socio-economic Benefits
Our proposed system will facilitate the students in which they can find their desired hostels with a single click. This will help them to stop wasting their time by going to different hostels one by one. The main objective of our system is to provide recommendations based on recorded information on the user’s preference. These systems use information filtrations techniques to process information to provide the user with potentially more relevant items. This system will be good for both students and the hostel's owner as this will give exposure to the business of hostel owners, as people from all over the country can see the facilities they are providing in their hostels. This will be very beneficial for the students also as they have not to worry about anything.
Project Methodology
In our proposed system the user will be able to see the pictures of the hostel, it's rating and the reviews of the students who are living in that hostel. Basically, a recommendation system is a subclass of an information filtering system that seeks to predict the "rating" or "preference" a user would give to an item. We will use sentiment Analysis on the given feedbacks on every hostel and rank or recommend that hostel on the basis of number of positive reviews any hostel received .This will provide the user with the best recommendations according to their need.
Project Outcome
As there are many websites working for hotels and restaurants but there is almost not online platform in Pakistan which works for hostels. Our project is quite a unique platform for hostel owners to have online platform for their hostels and students to find perfect hostel according to their needs. Our platform will also have a feature of premium hostels or featured hostels which will be paid advertisement and shown on above. Every hostel will have a photo gallery clearly showing the conditions of hostels.
