When voltage interruption/Phase failure occurs in a supply source ATS module switches the primary source to the secondary source. The process is done in very small time.

Methodology:
A stepdown transformer is connected to each phase of both the sources which steps down the source voltage from 220V to 5V. At the output of transformers, rectifiers are connected. These rectifiers convert the 5V AC output voltage to a DC value of 5V. This 5V DC is given to the microcontroller at its analogue inputs which convert them into a digital form. The microcontroller receives the voltage levels V1, V2… V6 and generates an output signal to trigger the TRIACs by means of Optocouplers. Under normal operating conditions, the microcontroller switches on the main source by turning on the TRIACs connected to the main source. Whenever any disturbance occurs and the voltage at that sources turns to zero, the microcontroller detects the disturbance by means of its analogue inputs and switches on the alternate source by triggering the TRIACs connected to that source.
