Providing a sustainable solution to reduce carbon emissions produced by cement industry by using high content fly ash as a partial replacement for self-compacting concrete.

  • Project Objective :
  • The main aim of this research is to investigate the influence of higher content of fly ash class F as a partial cement replacement and to compare the properties and test results of fresh and hardened forms of self-compacted concrete with self compacting concrete without fly ash.

  • Socio Economic Benefits :

The main reason that fly ash is considered to be eco-friendly when used in construction is because it's a recycled material. If power companies are going to burn coal and produce fly ash anyway, it makes sense to put it to good use, especially if it can save money and energy in the construction sector.

  • Project Methodology :

Project methodology includes casting and then performing different test to check their strengths and quality. Casting Includes replacing cement with fly ash at different possible percentage ratios and then performing desired destructive and non-destructive tests.

  • Project Outcome :
  • Effects of fly ash in partial replacement with cement in self compacting concrete will be observed. Higher strength and reduced shrinkage values are expected in final results. Life Cycle Assessment of fly ash in Self Compacting Concrete is observed to quantify the environmental impacts of the optimized concrete.
