Utilization of waste materials in SCC.

Project Objective:

 Development of Self Compacting Concrete mixtures utilizing various waste products.

Study the effect of Lime stone dust and marble powder on the self compacting  concrete.

 Study the characteristic properties and durability of the developed concretes.

Socio-economic Benefits:

It has environmental, social and economic benefits as compared with conventionally vibrated concrete and it can be considered as a more  sustainable type. In addition, it provides many advantages like a good finishing surface, an excellent construction quality, a short time required for casting, a reduced labor cost and without noise pollution.

Project Methodology:

 The methodology involves the following steps:

Preparation of self compacting concrete (SCC) using Lime stone Dust and marble powder.

Concrete mixing.

Preparation of  moulds.

Curing.

Test performance.(Compressive Strength test, Split Tensile strength test, Flexure Strength Test)



Project Outcome:

The substitution of sand with WMP of 10-30% improves hardened properties but further increase of marble powder in concrete decrease the strength when compared to the conventional concrete.

On Addition of WMP,the passing and filling ability of SCC by slump flow test,V Funnel test increased on increasing WMP.

Further, Fresh and hardened Properties of SCC can also be analysed after 28 days.
