FOG DETECTION AND VISIBILITY ENHANCEMENT

The project is developed to facilitate drivers by increasing their visibility in foggy weather conditions while driving. It is an efficient and cost-effective solution that covers large numbers of users to reduce the chance of accidents in foggy weather.

Project Objectives:

The project has two primary objectives:

  • Defog and dehaze the foggy feed to enhance the visibility of the driver.
  • Making a cost-effective application that eliminates the need for sensors.

Socio-economic Benefits:

The project eliminates the need for expensive sensors to enhance visibility. This makes this project a more practical and economical solution to defog the real-time foggy feed. It can be used by drivers on highways while driving in bad weather.

Project Methodology:

The product is a hardware-based solution to defog the real-time foggy feed. The user can use a mobile camera to capture the feed which is processed on Jetson Nano and defogged results will be displayed on the mini-LCD. In addition to this, the user will get a warning in form of an alarm in case of any nearby vehicle to avoid accidents.

Project Outcome:

The following are the outcomes of this project:

  • Efficiently process real-time foggy feed to enhance visibility.
  • Cost-effective solution that eliminates the need for expensive sensors.
  • Reduce the chance of daily accidents.
  • Covers a large number of users.
