This project investigates the enhancement of asphalt's self-healing capabilities using SBR through controlled dry oven heating. It aims to optimize healing conditions to improve pavement durability and lifespan.

Objectives

To improve the self-healing ability of asphalt by testing how different heating temperatures, bitumen amounts, and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) additive levels affect its performance, with the aim of identifying the optimal combination that maximizes self-healing capability.

Socio-Economic Benefit

Use innovative self-healing asphalt to reduce road maintenance .Reduce CO2 emissions from maintenance and traffic disruption.

Methodologies

1.Selection of Material. 2.Mold Casting. 3.Self Healing Tests 4.Data Analysis

Outcome

The projects result indicate that 7% SBR-modified asphalt achieves optimal self-healing performance with 92% healing efficiency after 1 hour of heating at 50°C.
