Open House and Job Fair Fall 2022 Organized at CUI Wah Campus

COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus organized Open House and Job Fair on January 5, 2023 for the graduating students of Fall 2022 from the Management Sciences and Computer Sciences Department.
In this event graduating students showcased their final year projects (FYPs) which portrayed their professional skills. The participating industry keenly observed the talent of students exhibited through these projects and shortlisted the talented students and conducted detailed interviews to select them for jobs in their companies.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I., was the Chief Guest of the event. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhatti, Incharge Career Development Center (CDC) briefly described the activities of Career Development Center at the Wah Campus. He emphasized the importance of Industry-Academia partnership and student welfare. These partnerships are crucial for the development and advancement of any field, as they provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience and for academia to stay updated on industry developments.
Ms. Maryam Qadir, an alumni of the Management Sciences Department shared her success story, experience and role of teachers in her grooming.
In his opening remarks, the Campus Director welcomed the participating industry and emphasized the concept of student welfare at CUI Wah. He added that when industry and academia work together, students are able to benefit from real-world experience and practical training that helps them prepare for their future careers. This not only enhances their education, but also helps to ensure that they are able to succeed in the competitive job market. The Campus Director pointed out the availability of the best talent here at CUI Wah and persuaded the companies to hire them.
More than 55 companies participated in the event. As per feedback from the companies, more than 370 students were interviewed, and 142 students were shortlisted for jobs. Moreover, shortlisted students will be interviewed online by the companies in the near future.
Mr. Salman Saeed, an alumni of the Computer Science Department shared his success story with the audience during the closing ceremony.
In closing ceremony, Chief guest, Mr. Zeeshan Khattack, Chief Commercial Officer of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) highlighted the need of Industry Academia partnership. He emphasized in his remarks that the exhibited projects were of high quality and tilted towards industry needs. He kindly offered that all of the exhibited projects will be facilitated and posted on the website of PSEB, where they will be visible to the international community. The chief guest was presented with a Campus Shield by the Campus Director.
The chief guest of the closing ceremony, and Director Campus congratulated the winners and runner-up teams of the FYPs and distributed certificates to the winners and runner ups of final year projects.
