This project focuses on the development of water filtration system that operates on solar system and then deploy some water quality monitoring sensors with help of ESP32 microcontroller board to monitor the quality of filtered water. pH, Turbidity and TDS sensor is used to monitor the quality of filtered water.
The following objectives are set for this project: Design and develop a portable water filtration system that is powered by solar energy. Implement a filtration system that is capable of removing various contaminants from the water,including solids,sand and other impurities. Incorporate a quality monitoring system that uses sensors to measure the levels of various contaminants in the water, such as pH, turbidity, and Total Dissolved Solids. To make a portable water filtration and quality monitoring system with low power consumption.
Following SDG’s goals are achieved in our project: SDG 3(To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being) SDG 6(Clean Water and Sanitation) SDG 8(Decent Work and Economic Growth) SDG9(Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
1:Water Filtration Methodology: The system includes water filtration methodology which consist of three phases. First step involves passing water through sediment filter to remove the impurities larger in size.In the next phase water pass through pre carbon filter which remove the colors and remaining impurities. Then at last water pass through UV chamber which consist of ultra voilet light to eliminate solids and bacteria. Pure water then flow to the tank where it is stored for drinking and other purposes. 2: Quality Monitoring System Methodology The quality monitoring system methodology involves incorporating sensors such as turbid- ity, pH, and TDS(Total Dissolved Solids) sensors into the solar-powered water filtration system. The next phase of system involves quality monitoring methodology consist of three sensors pH, turbidity and TDS(total dissolved solids).These three sensors are place in water to monitor the quality of purified water. The micro controller board(ESP32) reads the measurements from the sensors, and Android app display the readings. This provides the user with real-time information about the quality of the water being pro- duced, and helps ensure that the filtration system is functioning correctly. The monitoring system is built using an Arduino board and is integrated into the filtration system. Overall, the water filtration methodology combines several different methods to provide clean water, while the quality monitoring system methodology provides real-time informa- tion about the quality of the water being produced. Together, these methodologies create a comprehensive system for producing and monitoring clean water, which is sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable.
In this we have investigated and developed a solar powered water filtraion system which is integrated with a water quality monitoring system including different sensors to monitor the quality.It was an incredible experience and a big challenge for us because we had no prior expertise with solar panels or water filtration systems. What is most fulfilling for us is being able to make a difference in someone's life by providing them with clean and safe water. It will not only help save lives, but it will also allow the user to assist significant others. The main goal of our solar-powered water filtration system was to make it portable, lightweight, and simple to operate. The use of solar power makes our system and friendly to the environment.Its portability makes it more convenient for the users.filtration system consisting of different stages is an effective and cost effective solution for providing safe and clean drinking water. Quality monitoring including different sensors provide real time data to users and show that water is safe for drinking or not.We developed a software application in conjunction with the hardware in order to make the application as simple to use as possible.
